What is it that you hope to know and be able to do at the conclusion of the class?
I would like to be able to learn and memorize simple songs by the end of this semester.
What are three things you would like to achieve in order to count your semester as successful?
I would like to achieve the self gratification of feeling I am proficient in something new.
How motivated are you to achieve these goals?
I tend to be a self motivated person and I love trying new things. I just joined the Nordic team after never skiing!
How will you increase your motivation if it becomes low during the course of the semester?
Through all the various tests I may have throughout the semester, there will definitely be some sluggish days. I will remind myself why I chose to take this class. Playing the piano is supposed to be fun, not a chore.
What strategies can you use to achieve your goals?
I will use caffeine and my desire to know more as strategies to achieve my goal. Every Sunday night I take stock of how well I feel I am doing in each class and I adapt from the gaps I see in that.
What might interfere with your achievement and how can you prevent this interference?
The only thing that could throw me off would be an especially overwhelming week. Between my 4 APs and the SATs and ACTs coming up, there will definitely be some challenging weeks. However, I'm up for the challenge!
